Putin’s Forces Invade Ukrainian Ground

Russia’s attacks on Ukraine have brought the entire Europe on the edge of a devastating new conflict. The biggest attack by a country on another since World War Two. Russian forces made a full invasion attack on eastern part of Ukraine on 24th Feb, 2022. Ukrainians are being woken up by rocket and military attacks by Russian forces. A fierce war has begun between the two countries.

Loud explosions were heard in the capital city of Kyiv and in the eastern region just minutes after Putin’s announcement. These attacks by the Russian forces have ended the hopes for a diplomatic solution that the US and other countries were trying to impose. Putin has also warned other countries to not interfere in the war as doing so might lead to severe consequences.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared Martial law across the entire country.The President is also asking leaders of influential countries to offer defence assistance to Ukraine and help protect its citizens in this tough time.He also asked his people to defend the country.President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his tweet that every weapon will be provided to those who wish to defend the country. The defence minister of Ukraine also said that any fit individual who can hold a weapon is welcome to join their military forces.

As soon as the capital city of Ukraine was attacked, Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said that his country is prepared to defend itself against Russia. He added that Putin’s decision of these military attacks is a ‘war of aggression’. He also said in his tweet that Immediate action should be taken against these attacks as the entire globe is at stake. In the midst of this ongoing war, Ukraine has perfectly made it clear that it will not bow down to Russia.

As Ukraine suffers these unjustified and unprovoked attacks by Russian forces, American president Joe Biden said that President Putin has chosen a way which will only cause catastrophic loss of life and human suffering. He also said that Russia alone is responsible for these attacks and the loss it will bring. Biden continued saying that the US and its allies will come together and respond in a united and decisive way.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called these attacks as a grave breach of international law and a major threat to other countries of Europe. He said that the allies are meeting to address the consequences of Russia’s aggressive actions.
